Visit to SPCA & Abseiling

Date and time: 4 th October 2006, 3:00 - 4:00 p.m.

Venue: SPCA Centre in Wan Chai

Participants: 31 Form 4 students

It is heart-breaking to learn about cases of animal abuse in Hong Kong. Sharing the belief that education is the key to better protection of animal rights, our F.4 students exchanged their views with the staff at SPCA on the theme “Respect for life begins with concern for Animals” on 4 th October 2006.

Welcoming us was the SPCA Ambassador, a lovely domestic cat which accompanied all the participants during the presentation session. The staff, Yvonne, introduced the objectives and services the centres provide while motivating the participants to respond to the questions she asked.

All participants were shown cases of abuse to animals over the world and they were reminded of making sensible considerations before homing a pet. The tour to the Centre’s new Homing Department, where different types of animals are waiting to be adopted, was an eye-opening experience for all.

All participants look forward to another visit to the SPCA Centres to spend more time with man’s best friends!
