In order to let student grow as a positively motivated and has high self esteem learner. It is a significant issue if students can take an active role in learning, their interests will then be sustained and learning will be more effective. Therefore, more task-based activities will be employed so that students can take a more active role in exploring the subject matters taught. The activities designed are as follows:
Demonstrations & experiments ¡V to enhance the understanding of the procedures of some art making technique, teachers' demonstrations; besides, detailed experiments and explorations are designed by the students themselves with guidance of teachers in the lessons are necessary.
Multi-media teaching ¡V to enhance the understanding of the subject and arouse students' interests in the subject, audio- visual materials such slides, photos ,TV , CD , cassette and computer are currently used in the lessons.
Discussions ¡V To promote students' understanding and interest, discussions with their peers of various concepts and comparisons are held in the lesson.
Assignments ¡V To let students apply what they have learnt and to test their understanding, assignments will be given to students in every unit.
Self-learning ¡V In order to strengthen students with self-learning skills in information design, research useful reference books and websites will be introduced to students more often. And students will be encouraged to share their interesting images they drawn, created or collected from their surroundings with their classmates.
Art appreciation and annual exhibition ¡V To build up their confidence and, peer appreciations and in-class appraisals are very important items. Art appreciation will be employed in the lesson after every unit, and annual exhibition will be held every year.
Teachers' remarks and comments ¡V In order to assure students' effort paid in the subject, teachers' remarks and comments will be given occasionally.
Museum / Gallery / Web-Site visit ¡V In order to arouse students' interest in Art and relate students' understanding to daily life, museum or web site visit will be considered in the schedule.
Self-scheduled reports, visual diaries, tests and class exercises ¡V To expand students' standard and ability and cater for students' individual need.
