Objectives

After completing the ICT course, students should be able to:
  1. identify and operate the basic components of a microcomputer, including its peripherals such as printer and scanner.
  2. perform Windows-based operations.
  3. use common application software in information processing, such as word-processing packages, spreadsheets in calculation and charting, multimedia presentation, and Internet tools for communication and information retrieval.
  4. handle information in Chinese and to input Chinese characters.
  5. protect themselves when getting access to information and communicating through the Internet.
  6. demonstrate the awareness and the basic skills in verifying and evaluating the accuracy and reliability of information. In the process, they should work collaboratively with their peers in project assignments.
  7. be aware of the importance of keeping confidential of sensitive or personal data and behave ethically in applying ICT in information processing.
  8. develop an inquisitive mind and an interest in learning new ICT tools and techniques independently.
