Messages behind activities held:

1. Acting or Speaking

Everyone has her own talent and potential. Although different people have different talent and thus will be good at some aspects but not the others, everyone will be successful if they work hard to develop their potential and make full use of their talents. In this game, students can have different ways to pass on the words according to their choice. Even though their choices are different, the words can be passed successfully if they choose the way that is suitable for them and make good use of the method they have chosen.
Actually, the game correlates to our school theme this year. The school theme this year stresses on responsibility. It is also one of our responsibilities to find out our potential and develop it to the fullest so that we can make contributions to the people around us and to the society in the future. Once we explore our potentials, we can “jump” out of our own circles, and take a step forward to pursue our dreams.

2. Keep the Ball Rolling

In this game, members in the group have different potentials in completing the task. Some with longer diameter rolled paper, which make it easier for them to pass the ball, and some with shorter diameter, which is more disadvantaged in doing so. Nevertheless, all members play an equally important role in fulfilling the task requirements because cooperation is needed in order to win the game. Everyone’s small act can have a big impact on the others. If one of the members give up simply because they are not that talented, the group will have a lower chance of winning the game as other members have to run rather fast to the back of the line in order to get the ball.

3. Cooperation Game

Different people have different roles and qualities in any community. We should respect one another’s positions or jobs as we all get unique potential for different aspects and interdependent with one another.
The two product-making students have to believe their group mates and pay full attention to their instructions otherwise they couldn’t make a product by themselves. No one is perfect so we always need the helping hands and wisdom of others when we are not able to handle things by our own in our lives. We should not hesitate to ask for help because we may be weak in some areas. On the other hand, we should always try our best to provide assistance to others so as to make things better. Still, there may be inaccurate signals and misunderstandings throughout the whole process, but cooperation can make a team united and work together for better outcome. Moreover, we have to respect others’ opinion and try to avoid misunderstandings by building up better communication skills and better cooperation between members.

4. Do You Know?

Participants will get to know more about their groupmates as everyone think in different perspectives although they get the same information. Without the previous questions and the answers, they can’t figure out the answer because there is no hint. Thus, communication and questions are both very important elements to know more about everything in our daily lives.
Questions may not be straight-forward all the time, we may ask some which are not usual or strange question in order to understand better. It may not be easy for us to raise our questions as we normally think those question are typical. We have to JUMP out of our circle. We can’t think narrowly all the time and follow our own rules.

5. Lifting with Courage

Lifting a student by only using 4 fingers seems impossible. But this is possible if students have the courage to try and believe in themselves and group members. In SMCC, our teachers and classmates give many chances to us, if students don’t have the courage and don’t take the initiative, they can never succeed, learn and improve their weaknesses, thus, developing themselves into all-rounded students.
During the discussion, students may hold different viewpoints and opinion.  Sometimes we may disagree with other students. Still, we have to respect others’ opinion and try to avoid misunderstandings by building up better communication skills in order to better cooperate with others.
