Mission


1.  To develop in students an understanding of basic accounting principles and the application of such principles in modern business operations. Upon completion, students should be able to analyze data and prepare journal entries and reports as they relate to the accounting cycle;

2.  To provide students with thorough appreciation of accounting concepts, conventions, principles and techniques and their applications;

3.  To familiarize students with standard accounting procedures and statutory requirements of Hong Kong in accounting practice and development ;

4.  To introduce students to a broad range of decision making problems that arise in various organizational settings;

5.  To help students become accounting literate; that is, students should be introduced to the role of accounting in a global market economy and to fundamental accounting concepts that underlie the development and communication of information that supports economic decision making;

6.  To prepare students for further education and /or jobs in the related field;

7.  To develop the ability to present, discuss, and defend views clearly and effectively   through written and spoken language;

8.  To identify ethical issues and apply a value-based reasoning system to make ethical   business decisions;

9. To appreciate of the value of integrity, life-long learning and sensitivity to social responsibilities.
